Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 55 minutes
1. Mix spices and vinegar to a thick paste. Add beef and coat well with the paste. Cover and marinade for at least 4 hours
2. Stir fry the beef for 15 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
3. In another pan, heat the oil on a medium heat and fry garlic for 30 seconds; add onions and fry for 5 minutes until golden brown. Add beef and fry for 6 minutes, stirring frequently
4. Add the water, bring to the boil and simmer for 45 minutes or until the meat is nearly tender. Add potatoes and bring to the boil again. Cover the pan and simmer until the potatoes are cooked. Serve with chopped coriander to garnish
Serve with Chiman’s Dal, basmati rice, naan bread, cucumber raita and a green salad for a delicious meal
